At Purple Jay Nursery we are looking for an apprentice to join our team. You will be working alongside our qualified and experienced staff who will support your childcare journey. You will also be assigned a mentor and be working under the direction of the nursery manager and deputy.
We are looking for someone who has an interest in working with young children under 5 years. Has the ability to relate and interact with children and most importantly should be enthusiastic and caring.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, it is therefore a requirement of all staff that they share this commitment and follow the nursery policy and procedures to promote a culture of safeguarding across the company.
This position is subject to an enhanced DBS and satisfactory employment references. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an online safeguarding course during their first week of employment.

We are a family run nursery part of Purple Jay Nurseries catering for children aged 3 months – 5 years. We are registered for Children and have 3 rooms (Babies, Toddlers & Pre-school)
Main purpose of the role is to support and assist the nursery staff team in providing a rich and varied experience for children under five years attending our nurseries alongside completing your own Early Years qualification.
Main duties include
To participate in the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage
To participate in the observation and assessment of children under the direction of colleagues
To provide a safe, caring, stimulating environment, both indoors and outdoors at all times.
To assist colleagues in planning and implementing a variety of engaging activities to meet the children’s individual needs and interests
To participate in supporting the children’s personal, social and emotional development, including the promotion of positive behaviour strategies
To actively support the development of children’s language, communication and thinking skills
To establish and maintain positive relationships with the children and their families
Assist in maintaining a high standard of hygiene, being aware of health and safety at all times.
Early Years Educator level 3
English and Maths Functional Skills (If Required)

£540 per month
£ 6,480 per annum
Permanent position for the right candidate
There is a requirement, subject to appropriate guidance or training, to lift and carry children, and to spend time outdoors throughout the year and in all weathers. You will be required to provide a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (and other, if required), Two satisfactory references and entitlement to work in the UK
