Vacancy Description

  • Assisting our director in all office and event related matters
  • dealing with correspondence and phone calls
  • managing diaries and organising meetings and appointments, often controlling access to the manager/executive
  • booking and arranging travel, transport and accommodation
  • reminding the manager/executive of important tasks and deadlines
  • typing, compiling and preparing reports, presentations and correspondence
  • managing databases and filing systems
  • implementing and maintaining procedures/administrative systems
  • liaising with staff, suppliers and clients
  • collating and filing expenses
  • developing creative ideas and themes
  • advising on wedding customs or etiquette
  • preparing proposals and quotations for the work
  • understating how we work with suppliers such as florists, photographers, caterers and venues
  • being at the venue on the day of the events and making sure that everything goes to plan
  • researching new products, services and suppliers, through word of mouth, online or using social media
  • dealing with paperwork, phone calls, emails and letters
  • Updating our website, blog or social media with recent events

Working week

  • Normal working hours will be Tuesday - Friday from 09:30am - 5pm.
  • The apprentice may be asked to work outside the normal working hours.
  • Should this occur, the working hours will be adjusted for the following week.

Things to Consider

  • Being able to work outside normal working hours until 1am / 2am
  • Tasks can range from desk/admin organization related requirements to a “hands on” approach such as meet and greeting guests, assembling welcome baskets, setting up events,etc
  • As you will be working at events that would be selling alcohol the candidate must be 21+

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 A*-C GCSEs or equivalent
  • A-levels would be preferred
