OCCUPATIONAL PROFILE

This course is suitable for existing managers, those who are at the start of their career, or aspiring business leaders who may already have developed practical experience but wish to develop their theoretical understanding of management skills further and gain Chartered Manager status. The Operational/ Departmental Manager apprenticeship is an exciting new work-based route towards developing Operational/ Departmental Manager.

Employers decide the entry requirement typically:

Level 2 English and Maths can be included in the programme if not achieved before starting the course.

COURSE OVERVIEW AND LEARNING

The course is delivered on-site by an allocated personal tutor and tailored to suit your business. Course delivery is through work-based learning. Learners will gain an understanding of operational business planning techniques, including how to manage resources, development of sales and marketing plans, setting targets and monitoring performance.

They will develop knowledge of management systems, processes and contingency business continuity planning. They will acquire skills to create and deliver operational plans, lead projects and teams through business transformation and change management.

■ Knowledge Test using scenarios and questions

■ Work-based Project assignment followed by a presentation and Q&A

PROGRESSION

■ Apply to be a full member of the Chartered Management Institute and Chartered Manager status

■ Membership of the Institute of Leadership and Management.

■ Further professional development leading to Fellow or Chartered Fellow status
