IT TECHNICAL SALES - LEVEL 3
The primary role of an IT Technical Salesperson is to sell a company’s technical products and services. They need good knowledge and understanding of the portfolio of available technologies. They work to maintain good relationships with existing clients, gaining repeat business wherever possible from customers, both internal and external, UK or internationally. They also approach potential customers intending to win new business. They maintain a thorough understanding of existing technologies and those that are emerging.

Individual employers will set the selection criteria, but this might include GCSEs, A levels, a level 2 apprenticeship or other relevant qualifications, relevant experience and/or an aptitude test with a focus on functional maths.
COURSE OVERVIEW AND LEARNING
The course is delivered at the employer’s place of business. Learners will develop sales and negotiation skills, that will enable them to assess and qualify sales leads by developing a clear understanding of clients’ business needs and advising how these meet with appropriate products, tools and techniques.
They learn, understand and demonstrate knowledge of the technical portfolio and systems sold within their organisation and how to use and demonstrate current hardware and operating systems. They will learn about data security and legislation, project workflow and time management. Communication, customer satisfaction, database management and reporting also forms part of the learning modules.
